Leonard Keillor

Leonard W. Keillor, 72, of Greenville, died May 11, 2003, at 9:58 p.m.  Funeral services were held at the Free Methodist Church in Greenville, with interment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.  Mr. Keillor was born March 31, 1931, in Melbourne, Australia.  He married Joyce E. Erickson June 21, 1947, in Spring Arbor, Michigan, and she survives.  Mr. Keillor was reared in Melbourne, Australia, and attended the public schools there.  At the age of 20, he purchased a one-way ticket to England where he worked.  He traveled to Canada where he worked in a youth camp, and then attended Spring Arbor Junior College.  In 1955, he came to Greenville College and graduated in 1957.  Following his marriage, he spent a year at University of Illinois, returning to Greenville College in 1958, attaining the position of vice president of business affairs.  He retired in 1994, and organized tennis matches.  He coached the girls' tennis team at Greenville High School and participated in the National Senior Olympics.  Mr. Keillor was a member of the Greenville Free Methodist Church, Greenville Kiwanis Club, where he was past president twice; a member of the Southwest Illinois Area for the Aging, volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center, and was a sponsor of the Greenville High School Kiwanis Key Club.  Designated as memorials are the Greenville College Len and Joyce Keillor Scholarship Fund for International Students or the Greenville Free Methodist Church Building Fund.  [Taken from the obituary published in the Greenville Advocate.]
